Start a browser game without losing the controls

Check the game's own instructions, give the playfield focus and use short practice rounds before chasing a high score.

Start with the instructions for the game you opened. Similar-looking browser games can use different keys, touch controls or restart behaviour. Learning those controls first makes the first round useful instead of frustrating.

Give the game focus

After opening a game, click or tap its playfield when needed. A keyboard event can otherwise go to the surrounding page. If a movement key scrolls the page rather than moving the character, check focus and the game's control notes before changing the browser settings.

Learn one action at a time

Use the first round to test movement, then the main action, then pause or restart if the game provides them. A short practice run helps you see whether the keyboard or touch layout feels comfortable on your device.

Keep the playfield visible

Try the game's fullscreen control when available. On a phone, follow any orientation guidance shown by that particular game. Avoid assuming every game has the same shape or that stretching the screen will improve the view.

Share a useful problem report

If something does not work, post the game name, device, browser and the step that failed in the games community. Explain whether the issue happens before play, during a round or on restart. A concrete report is more useful than a screenshot of an unexplained score.
