About this game
Bubble Shooter is the arcade version of the bubble-matching puzzle: you fire from a launcher at the bottom of the screen up into a hanging cluster, and three or more same-coloured bubbles touching each other pop on contact.
Aim with the mouse, with the left and right arrow keys, or by tapping on touch, then fire with space or a click. The launcher shows your current bubble and the next one, so you can plan two shots ahead — that preview is the difference between a lucky run and a controlled one.
The scoring is where the real game lives. Popping three bubbles is worth a modest amount. Cutting the connection that holds a large group to the ceiling drops that whole group, and dropped bubbles score several times more each, with a rising multiplier for size. Skilled play is therefore about deliberately building a fragile connection and then snipping it, rather than popping whatever is convenient.
Every few shots the ceiling advances one row, so hesitating is expensive. If you have no good match, park a spare bubble in a far corner rather than adding to the centre. Aiming-and-banking bubble puzzles arrived in the mid-1990s and remain one of the most-played casual formats on the web.
FAQ
Do bank shots really help?
Yes. Bouncing off a side wall is the only way to reach bubbles tucked under an overhang, and it is where most of the big drops come from.
How do I score the most points?
Detach a large hanging cluster. Popped bubbles are worth a little; dropped bubbles are worth much more, and the value climbs with cluster size.
Is it playable on a phone?
Yes. Tap where you want to shoot, or use the aim buttons.
