About this game
Pipe Panic is a single-screen platformer built around one idea: you cannot hurt anything by touching it, only by hitting the floor it stands on. Enemies pour out of the pipes at the top of the screen, walk the platforms, drop to the level below and eventually reach you.
Move with the arrows and jump with space or up; on touch, use the pad plus the FIRE button. Jumping so your head strikes the underside of a platform flips every enemy standing on that section onto its back. A flipped enemy is harmless for roughly three seconds — run into it in that window to kick it off the screen for 800 points. Wait too long and it rights itself and moves noticeably faster than before.
The POW block in the centre flips everything on every platform at once, which is the panic button when three enemies converge. It has a limited number of uses per stage, so treat it as an emergency rather than a strategy. Coins appear after each kick and are worth collecting because they are free points with no risk attached.
Clearing a stage means emptying the pipes, and each new stage adds faster crawlers plus hazards like fireballs and slippery patches. Single-screen platformers with this flip-and-kick loop were an early 1980s staple and remain one of the fastest games in the hall to learn.

What happens if I wait too long?
A flipped enemy gets back up angrier and faster. Kick it within about three seconds.
Is there a two-player mode?
Not in this version — it is one player against the pipes.
Do coins matter?
Yes, they are pure bonus points and they appear after each kick.
