About this game

Capsule Bricks takes the plain ball-and-paddle wall and adds an item economy on top of it. Every brick you break has a chance to drop a coloured capsule that falls toward you, and catching it applies its effect instantly. That turns a pure reflex game into a game about which risks are worth leaving your position for.

Move with the mouse, the arrow keys or a finger drag, and press space to launch. The capsules are: Expand, which widens the paddle; Laser, which lets you shoot bricks directly with the fire button; Catch, which sticks the ball to the paddle so you can aim a precise release; Split, which multiplies the ball into three; and Slow, which drops the ball speed back down after a long rally.

There is more brick variety here too. Standard bricks break in one hit, silver bricks take several and count for more points, and gold bricks are indestructible obstacles you have to bounce around, which forces real angle planning instead of spraying the ball upward.

The strongest play is usually Catch followed by a deliberate shot into a channel you have already opened. Power-up brick games appeared about a decade after the plain wall and became the template for nearly every brick breaker made since.

FAQ

Should I catch every capsule?

No. Catching a bad one mid-rally can wreck a good position — a Split when you are about to tunnel through is often worse than nothing.

How do the extra balls work?

Split turns one ball into three. You only lose a life when the last one drops.

Mouse control?

Yes, and it is the most precise option for the fast angles this version produces.
